Family activities

A great selection of activities in Brittany for all the family. Most of the attractions are between 15 minutes and one hours’ drive from the cottage. Many have catering on-site or picnic tables if you wish to take your own lunch.

  • Paimpol steam train

    Steam Train – La Vapeur du Trieux

    Take a steam train ride from Paimpol to Pontrieux along the beautiful river Trieux. Depending on the timetable, you can browse around the town of Pontrieux before taking the return journey which stops off to sample crêpes and Breton cider.

  • Pirates maze

    Pirate’s Maze

    Four huge mazes cut into corn fields. Progress around the maze collecting clues to solve puzzles. Bouncy castles, games and other amusements are situated around the site. Picnic tables and snacks.

  • St Malo Aquarium

    St Malo Aquarium

    One of the highlights of the Aquarium is the sharks area. Sharks up to 3 meters long swim in a circular fish tank that you stand in the middle of. A trip on the Nautibus submarine ride is something kids will love.

  • Go-karting at St Malo

    Go Karting at St Malo

    Fantastic outdoor, 1km track, for budding F1 drivers with karts that reach speeds up to 80 km/h (50 mph). For the more experienced there are faster Rotax karts available as well.

  • Alligator bay reptile house

    Alligator Bay

    A reptile house with snakes, lizards, turtles, giant tortoises and over 200 alligators and crocodiles.

    Children can stroke the giant tortoises, climb inside glass tunnels in the snake house and watch feeding time in the alligator enclosures.

  • Tree climbing

    Tree climbing – Parc des Grand Chenes

    Negotiate various obstacles up in the tree tops and enjoy the thrill of the zip line death slides. Courses of varying difficulty from 5 years old and up. Climbing equipment is provided with training and instruction in English.

    Within the forest there are also pony rides and electric boats to hire on the lake. Picnic areas and snack shop.

  • Cobac Park

    Cobac Park

    Theme and water park for all the family. The park includes roller-coaster rides, water-splashes, mini train, bouncy castles, pedal boats and general amusements suitable for all age groups.

  • Bourbansais Zoo

    Zoo Bourbansais and Chateau

    Along with the lions, giraffes, tigers and other animals the zoo has a children’s play area, gardens and a 16th century château with guided visits.

    During the day there are, of course, feeding times, and demonstrations displaying birds of prey and hunting dogs.

As well as all the above, we also have local swimming pools, bowling alleys, the railway museum in Dinan, Surf and Sailing schools where you can hire wetsuits, surf boards, catamarans, windsurfers.
