Local Beaches

There are a huge number of beaches close to the cottage. The more popular beaches often have life guards and play areas for children. Even in high season, it is often no problem to find free car parking close-by.

  • Saint Cast-le-Guildo beach

    Saint Cast-le-Guildo

    A beautiful long sandy beach with plenty of facilities for families.

    On the sea front there are small ice-cream shops and cafes and on the beach, a play area for children and a beach crèche.

    Close to the town with it’s central park surrounded by shops and restaurants.

    Approximately 25 minutes drive from the gîte.

  • Ille des Hebinens

    Saint Jacut-de-la-Mer

    A rugged unspoilt beach perfect for those wishing to explore.

    The photo shows the Iles des Hebinens which is just north of the peninsula. You can walk to the island at low tide in about 30 minutes.

    Approximately 15 minutes drive from the gîte.

  • La Briantais beach sandcastle

    La Briantais

    Only 5 minutes from the gîte, this unspoilt secluded sandy beach is protected by a nature reserve of dunes and grassland.

    From here take the cliff path with magnificent coastal views towards the sea-side resort of Lancieux and the plage de St. Sieu.

  • Lancieux beach

    Lancieux

    A 1km long sandy beach with lifeguards in attendance during the holiday period. Also available are ice-creams, snacks, mini-golf and a play club for young children. Great views of Fort La Latte and Cap Frehel.

    Windsurfers and catamarans are available for hire.

    Approximately 10 minutes from the gîte.

  • St Lunaire surfing beach

    Saint Lunaire surfing

    St Lunaire has two main beaches, with this beach used by surfers. Surfboard and wetsuit hire is less than 20 euros for the day, with the opportunity for lessons if required.

  • Saint Lunaire family beach

    Saint Lunaire family beach

    The second of St Lunaire’s main beaches, caters more for families, with a 9 hole crazy golf course and several snack and ice-cream cafes. Close to the town centre and easy parking.

  • Beach at Dinard

    Dinard

    Dinard has a Victorian heritage and is known as the “Cannes of the North” attracting many stars, such as Joan Collins and Lawrence of Arabia.

    The town of Dinard is packed with tourist shops and a large covered market.

  • St Malo beach

    St. Malo

    St Malo is better known for it’s walled old town, however there are several sandy beaches suitable for all. One beach even has a outdoor swimming pool and diving board that fills up at each high tide.
