Locally, there are many attractions and activities available all year round. Below are a selection of some of the nearby activities in Brittany.
Beaches
Brittany has a huge number of beaches on it’s 1,700 mile coastline, each with its own unique character. The closest beach, La Plage de Briantais, is just 5 minutes away, with many others under 20 minutes’ drive at St Malo, Lancieux, Dinard, St Lunaire, St Jacut de la Mer and St Briac sur Mer.

Water sports
Surfing, sailing, canoeing. Whatever your aquatic fancy, there is something for everyone who loves messing about in the water.
History and Sightseeing
The medieval town of Dinan and the walled port of St Malo are two of the closest towns, vibrant and exciting with centuries of history. The famous Mont-St-Michel, the 13th Century castle of Fort La Latte and, renowned for its oysters, the town of Cancale.
Golf
All year round, golf courses in Brittany welcome both beginners and experienced players. There are several local courses, from the 9-hole pitch and putt in Lancieux, to the second oldest course in France at Dinard.
Parks and Gardens
Relax in the warm sun strolling around beautifully manicured gardens. With a château on hand there is always something to explore away from the topiary.
French Markets
Most towns and villages have a market once a week. From the small markets with a few stalls selling local fruit and vegetables, to larger towns with everything from clothes to livestock, even white goods. You’re sure to see something that takes your eye.
Cycling
In our rural setting there are plenty of lanes from the cottage, with only a short ride to the local lake, the disused railway line from Dinan to Dinard or even the canal path along the Rance river. Bring or hire bicycles to see the real Brittany.
Science and Technology
It’s not just for us geeks. There is a lot of science in distilling and brewing. After visiting the planetarium take a tour of a brewery and finish the day off with some Breton beer.
Relaxation
Looking for some down time – then take advantage of a Thalassotherapy centre (sea water therapy) for a range of Spa and other health treatments.
Restaurants
Food is an important part of the French culture and so there a large selection of restaurants to cater for everyone’s taste and budget.
In the cottage there are a number of leaflets and brochures to help plan your stay.
